‍ ‍About

Clementine Hanbury is a contemporary realist painter and draftsman based in London. In 2026, she was appointed Official Artist of the Grenadier Guards to record the ceremonial events. She is the recipient of the De Laszlo Foundation Award (2025), was Highly Commended by the De Laszlo Foundation in 2023, and received Best Portrait of the Year at the Florence Academy of Art in 2019.

Her work is held in private collections across Europe, Asia and North America, and has been exhibited with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the New English Art Club, the Hampstead Art Society, and Arcadia Contemporary in New York. In 2022, she exhibited in Paris alongside works by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and Jean Cocteau as the only contemporary painter included in the exhibition.

Trained at the City & Guilds of London Art School and the Florence Academy of Art, Hanbury’s work is characterised by close observation and psychological depth. Working from life and under natural conditions, she creates intimate and nuanced paintings and drawings that explore the human experience.
